At SCC Radio, operated by SCC Records, we respect your privacy and aim to collect only the information necessary to provide and operate our online radio service.
Cookies and Local Storage
SCC Radio does not use cookies for advertising, marketing or visitor tracking.
Our radio player may use your browser's local storage to remember functional preferences such as your selected volume level and whether the radio player was playing. This information is stored locally on your device and is used only to provide the radio player functionality.
Some parts of the website may use a temporary technical session cookie when required for website functionality. These cookies are not used for advertising or tracking.
Because these technologies are used only for functional or technically necessary purposes, SCC Radio does not currently request cookie consent.
Song Requests
When you use our Music Library to request a song, we may process:
- The name you enter
- Your IP address
- Your optional message
- The song you requested
- The date and time of your request
Your IP address is used for technical and security purposes, including preventing excessive or repeated song requests and misuse of the request system.
The information submitted through the song request system is not used for advertising or marketing.
Please do not include sensitive or confidential personal information in the optional message field.
Radio Streaming
When you listen to SCC Radio, your browser connects to our radio streaming service in order to receive the audio stream. As with normal internet services, technical information such as your IP address may therefore be processed by the streaming server as part of delivering the stream.
External Services
SCC Radio may retrieve publicly available music information from external services such as MusicBrainz and other music information providers.
Where these requests are made by our server rather than directly by your browser, these services do not receive information directly from your browser as a result of the request.
Our website may also contain links to external websites. Once you follow an external link, the privacy and cookie practices of that website apply.
No Advertising Tracking
SCC Radio currently does not use Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel or similar advertising and cross-site tracking technologies.
If we introduce analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking technologies in the future, this policy and our consent mechanism will be updated where required.
Data Retention
Personal information associated with song requests, including the submitted name, IP address, optional message, requested song, and request date and time, is retained for a maximum of 30 days. After this period, the information is deleted from the song request system unless longer retention is required by law or is necessary to investigate misuse or a security incident.
Your Rights
Depending on applicable data protection law, you may have rights regarding personal information we hold about you, including the right to request access, correction or deletion of your personal information.
